azalea

Azaleas:
Plant enthusiasts have grown azaleas for hundreds of years. Thousands of varieties now exist due to genetic modification. Azaleas are best grown in well-drained soil or in potted plants in a cool, shady location. They are easily damaged by excessive soil moisture and grow best in slightly acidic soil.  Fertilizer is optional, but some species do need regular pruning.
